PLAZA MAYOR
Original Music
Non-fiction film, Spain, 2025
Directed by Marcos M. Merino
Plaza Mayor traces the passage from a city that no longer exists to one still taking shape.
Through celebrations, protests and everyday gestures, the film explores how a square, a symbol of public life, becomes a stage for conflict and representation.
Against this backdrop of transformation, a personal dimension emerges: a return to a place deeply rooted in memory, and a reflection on what endures and what fades away.
Plaza Mayor thus reflects on grief, representation and the desire to find one’s place within a shared history.
